Detailed History About This Classic Street Rod For Sale:
We are very pleased to offer for sale a beautifully customized 1937 Ford 5-Window Coupe finished in Colonial White & Fiesta Red combination over a Fiesta Red/White two-tone interior with complementary Black accent piping! This classic streetrod was professionally rebuilt in body-off chassis fashion by the former owner of 18 years. Beginning in March 2004, the entire car would be disassembled to a bare chassis and body components and meticulously rebuilt in a pure nut & bolt process. Any and all rust was properly removed including the installation of all new floor pans, smoothed steel firewall, and replacement fiberglass front fenders. The chassis was upgraded with Chassis Engineering's independent front suspension set up with power rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes with dual master cylinder, and their parallel rear leaf springs supporting the 8.8” Ford rear axle. It rides comfortably on QA1 adjustable shocks at all four corners!
The body and chassis were both epoxy primered before the application of a gorgeous exterior 2-stage topcoat! Under the hood of this unique classic Ford is a GM crate 350ci V8 engine rated at 260 horsepower featuring a 4-bolt main, 2-piece rear main seal, cast iron crank and dished pistons, hydraulic flat tappet cam, iron heads with 8.5:1 compression ratio. This mates up to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission with floor-shifted Lokar shifter & dash gear indicator display. The rear axle houses a highway-friendly 3.27:1 ratio for a superbly balanced and very drivable road car!
Features and accessories are abundant everywhere you look, all carefully selected and methodically integrated to ensure no detail was overlooked in the build process! This included a trunk-mounted American Autowire 22-circuit fuse panel, all new wiring harnesses throughout, VDO instrumentation, fully insulated interior & trunk, custom front bucket seats with 3-point harnesses & foldable armrests, center console with cup holders & radio controls, special-built rear pup seat, Custom AutoSound AM/FM radio with CD changer and Pioneer speakers, New Port Engineering electric wipers, all tinted glass with one-piece windshield, power windows, Optima battery housed in the trunk with keyed disconnect, doors upgraded with “bear claw” style latches, Flaming River stainless steel column with tilt & LeCarra banjo steering wheel, turn signals, and Vintage Air's Slimline air conditioning system with GM R4 compressor! As a special touch, it even has dual vanity mirrors on the interior visors!
Mechanically, this Ford 5-Window Coupe utilizing HEI ignition, Walker copper & brass radiator with Cooling Components electric cooling fan, stainless steel fuel tank with electric pump, serpentine belt drive system, aluminum intake manifold with Holley carburetor, Sanderson block hugger exhaust headers with Magnaflow exhaust, Lokar flexible transmission dipstick, Gotta Show braided stainless steel power steering hoses and transmission cooler lines, Hagan teardrop fuel door, and upgraded Bob Drake halogen headlights with high-visibility bulbs! On the ground are 15” chrome wheels with chrome baby moon covers and BF Goodrich “big/little” combination radial wide whitewall tires!
Coming from an owner that insisted on high-quality results, he also demanded his cars perform and show to a very high standard! This sharp Ford was completed in 2006 and has been the recipient of many awards including Best Paint, Best Interior, and Best of Show! Make no mistake though, it was always driven to events accumulating 10,869 miles in the process! It is fully sorted and an absolutely joy to both drive and admire! If you are after a turnkey, summertime show classic car, don't let this stellar example slip past you! Thanks for looking!
