The Solstice was the first 2-seater Pontiac vehicle offered to the public since the Fiero of the 1980's that feature rear-wheel-drive, power rack and pinion steering, Bilstein shock absorbers, limited-slip differentials, as well as, stainless steel exhaust systems. The Solstice was offered only in convertible form originally. In 2009, consumers were given the option to purchase the model as a Targa coupe with a removable roof panel for an open air driving experience. There were also two engine options, which included a 2.4L DOHC 4 cylinder Ecotec producing 177 horsepower and 166 lb. ft. of torque, and the GXP edition utilizing a 2.0L Turbocharged DOHC 4-cylinder Ecotec producing 260 horsepower and 260 lb. ft. of torque. Either option made for an excellent sports car experience!
