The Karmann Super Beetle was introduced in 1971 and saw a host of changes, and improvements, nearly each and every year it was produced through 1979. This longer wheelbase platform offered a better overall suspension, turning radius, improved storage volume in the trunk, and larger 1600cc engine with Bosch fuel injection.
This 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible is refinished in factory code correct Mars Red (Marsrot) over Black vinyl interior with new Light Ivory convertible top! Features include the 1600cc flat 4 fuel-injected engine, 4-speed manual transmission, heater/defrost, rear window defogger, optional auxiliary electric heater, adjustable headrests, day/night rearview mirror, 15” sport wheels, Quartz electric clock, passenger visor vanity mirror, upgraded Alpine AM/FM/CD radio with Jensen door speakers, intermittent wipers, and dual outside mirrors! This beautiful example has traveled only 41,357 actual miles from new and remains exceptionally original with exception to one repaint and new convertible top! It was recently refinished due to small chips it had acquired over the years. The interior along with the convertible top boot, are original to the car and continue to show extremely well! It is a testament to its meticulous lifelong care from the past owners! It has the original engine with optional fuel injection, owner’s manual, and original full sized spare tire & jack. This vehicle survives with an incredibly solid chassis, pan, battery storage area, and front luggage compartment! A close inspection with showcase a perfect chassis VIN stamp, spot welds at crimp points, floor pan, and jack points!
Cars like this will make for terrific future investments! Super Beetle convertibles only made up about 2% of the total Beetle production, and rare, low mileage survivors such as this one are becoming very difficult to find. Don’t miss this great opportunity to have a virtually untouched, unmolested, original example such as this! Please feel free to call with any questions!
