Great factory color of Onyx Black over correct Tri-tone interior!
Touted as the “Prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen,” the Chevrolet Impala was first introduced to the public for the 1958 model year. It would be Chevrolet’s most expensive passenger model through 1965 and became the best-selling automobile in the United States. The Impala was distinguished for many years by its symmetrical triple taillights, powerful engines, wonderful ride, great handling, and luxury appointments!
We are excited to have this stunning 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe finished in factory code correct 900A- Onyx Black over trim code 806- Gray, Black, & Turquoise cloth and vinyl combination interior! It comes highly optioned with factory original, and fully rebuilt 348ci Tri-Power V8 engine & Powerglide automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering, and factory air conditioning! Additional features include correct spinner hubcaps, continental spare tire, Coker Classic 215/75R14 radial whitewall tires, fender skirts with polished rock guards, rocker moldings, dual exhaust with polished oval tips, windshield washer, dual outside mirrors, day/night rearview mirror, upgraded Antique Automobile Radio Inc. This truly outstanding example has seen a professional restoration and been shown avidly ever since! It clearly highlights a well-kept older frame-off restoration with red oxide primer undercarriage, fully painted frame, fresh suspension components, body bushings, braking system, complete exhaust system, and more! Topside, you will admire a remarkably well presented exterior paint finish, gorgeous interior from the headliner to the padded floor carpeting, superb dash, door panels, steering wheel, and instrumentation presentation! The car retains impeccable originality with the factory, number’s matching drivetrain, proper Harrison radiator with AC cap, intake manifold with triple Quadrajet 2-Jet carburetion with factory ID tags, correct heads with proper exhaust manifolds, T3 headlamps, and more! Included with this example will be a removable center console with twin cup holder & storage bin, owner’s manual with service policy insert, 4 sets of keys (original GM style), multiple parts catalogs, and extra Baldwin air filters special to these tri-carb cars.
Make no mistake, finding a quality original, first-year Impala in rust free condition is very challenging! Finding one with all the right factory options to boot, nearly impossible! We would like for all prospective buyers to know that we have gone to great lengths to ensure the original air conditioning system was fully serviced to utilize its original Frigidaire compressor. This involved sending it to a specialist, Classic Auto Air in Florida, to fully rebuild the original unit at great expense. In addition, the entire suspension system received new shocks & springs at all four corners, new valve cover gaskets, new engine fluids, and front end alignment! Located out of Memphis, TN in the hands of the former owner of 6 years, it was driven annually for a total of 8,000 miles during his care. That former located the car out of Virginia in November 2011 after it was shown post-restoration scoring 992/1000 points at a Chevrolet event. It starts, runs, and drives with incredible enjoyment! Strong engine power, smooth transmission shifts, excellent road feel, and confident braking! If you have been looking for a superb addition to your 1950’s car collection, or are a first time classic Chevrolet enthusiast, this one will be hard to beat! They simply do not come around like this very often! Act quickly!
